Your wedding is such a magical time in your life, it’s one of those days that you want to remember and cherish forever. We love our wedding couples at The Cake Engineer and are truly excited to bring each couple’s cake vision to life. We truly care as much about the taste as we do about how the cake looks, so you know that you are making the right choice when you put your trust in us to engineer your dream wedding cake. 

Steps in Ordering Your Wedding Cake

  1. Initial discussion will involve pricing and availability of The Cake Engineer for your wedding date. If we are available, and the pricing suits your needs then we move forward with the process. 
  2. Mary Faustino will schedule a meeting with you to discuss your cake vision. Feel free to bring photos, pieces of décor, or anything that may contribute to your vision of your wedding cake. Mary will create some sketches based on all of the above, where required.
  3. If the designs are accepted, a complimentary tasting will be scheduled. This is the final step in the process before a deposit is required and the date is confirmed. Cakes under $500.00 require a 75.00 deposit, cakes over $500.00 require a $125.00 deposit. 

Wedding Cake/Cupcake Pricing

Base price for Buttercream wedding cakes is $4.75 a serving, fondant cakes start at $5.25 a serving. Each tier of cake will have a minimum of 3 layers of cake with 2 layers of filling and each tier stands approximately 4 inches in height. 

Standard Buttercream topped cupcakes start at $2.75 each.

For Weddings, We do NOT charge delivery within the city of Guelph. We will deliver outside of Guelph for a small fee which is based on the distance from our Shop to the wedding venue.


At The Cake Engineer we make our cakes and fillings from scratch, the way our grandmothers used to do it. One thing that sets us apart in our area is that we use real buttercream, which does NOT contain icing sugar. It is very silky and smooth and does not have that “hurt your teeth” level of sweetness. It’s our secret weapon and its one of the many qualities that keep our customers coming back time and time again.

Cupcake and Cake Flavours:

Vanilla, Moist Chocolate, Red Velvet, Banana, Lemon, Carrot.
We can do any of these flavours in Gluten free as well and also accept other food sensitivity requests.
Custom flavour requests are also welcome.

Buttercream Flavours:

Vanilla, Chocolate, Tart Lemon, Strawberry, Raspberry.
Custom flavour requests are also welcome.
All fruit buttercreams are made with real fruit puree so they taste like the fruit,
we do NOT use artificial flavourings.

Other Toppings/Fillings:

Chocolate Ganache (for dark chocolate lovers), Cream Cheese Frosting, Fresh Fruit.
Custom flavour requests are also welcome.
